Which tier is right?

If you want the complete story, properly told, with every Chronicle feature – Life Story is the entry point. £99. The full digital edition, in full colour, to read and share. Upgrade for a printed book whenever you want one.

If you want the same story as a full-colour casebound hardback you can hold – Memoir is the printed edition. £199.

If you want the keepsake-grade version – a Smyth Sewn binding that opens easily and stays open as you read, a ribbon marker, head and tail bands and endpapers in a colour you choose, plus priority support – Heirloom is built for that. £399.

The difference between Memoir and Heirloom.

Both produce a beautiful full-colour hardback, and both share every software feature – voice sessions and custom design included. Heirloom is about the craft of the book: Smyth Sewn binding (thread-sewn signatures that open easily, stay open as you read, and are made to be read and re-read without the spine cracking), our heaviest 150gsm paper, a ribbon marker, head and tail bands and endpapers in a colour you choose, and priority support. Memoir is excellent. Heirloom is made to be handed down.

Is it worth it?

What they get from it.

Most people expect homework. Storytellers tell us it’s the opposite – being asked, properly, about their own life.

“It's like your own autobiography — but instead of you having to write it, they talk you through it.”
CM, beta storyteller

What the family gets, before the book.

Read along as each chapter is finished – and, if they choose, hear them tell it.

What it costs against the alternatives.

From about £8 a chapter. A professional writer charges thousands; a blank notebook costs nothing and usually stays blank.
